Spring is here and so is the summer rec guide

Last week I saw my first robin of the year. I have also noticed an abundance of geese around the Osakis area. The sights and sounds of spring along with the warmth of the March sun always rejuvenate my energy level. I must have a little bit of seasonal affective disorder (cabin fever) because I feel a great need to get outdoors and do some yard work.

The students at school are feeling the same way. When the weather warmed up last week, the students had big smiles and seemed much happier. The warm weather will entice children to go outside and play so all of us driving vehicles need to be extra cautious around children walking or driving their bikes.

As long as I am on the topic of children being outside, here is an update on summer recreation. The Osakis Summer Recreation schedule and registration guide has been printed and was given to students on March 23. The information will also be listed on the school web site. The summer programs are available to all students in the area. The registration deadline is April 11 and some of the activities have size limits. Get your registration in early to lock in the activity for your child.
