Student Council plans lake clean-up and signs of change
April 21, 2008
Lake Osakis is a point of pride and
concern for area residents and students alike. On Saturday, May 17,
the student council plans to make an environmental impact on a
local level. Students are invited to participate in cleaning the
shoreline of Lake Osakis at Battle Point Park and public accesses
starting at 1:00 p.m. Students will also be putting up
anti-littering signs in partnership with the Osakis Lake
Association. Art students worked hard on creating interesting and
thought-provoking designs that will be produced by the industrial
arts students. The winning designs were created by sophomore Brock
Landis and junior Sara Wielenberg. Another sign for the swimming
beach was created by junior Hannah Hawkins. The clean up is also
sponsored by the MN DNR’s Adopt-A-River Program.
Student Council is asking for your help, so please make every
effort to pack out your trash when enjoying our beautiful lake.
Remember, little eyes are always watching!
