Construction - August 23 - 27
August 28, 2009
This week saw a bit of progress. Brick work on the east side of the building was completed and the scaffolding came down. Roofers began work on areas over the cafeteria prep area and the district offices.
The parking lot on the south side of the building is slowly taking shape and the installation of the drain field is near completion. There's a goal to have the lot tarred and ready to go by the start of school. Cabinets were being installed in the Early Childhood Center classroom this week and the terrazzo hallway and south school entrance floor was poured.
Workers from Summit continue to install piping for the new sprinkler system and successfully tested several areas throughout the building on Thursday. All necessary areas passed the fire marshal's inspection giving the go ahead to start school on time on Tuesday, September 8.
